It would be cool to have access to the podcasts and audiobooks in your audiobookshelf server through chromatix
Similar to Spotify, a pop out player that can be shrunk to have just mini album art, track name and artist. When expanded, it shows larger album art, star rating, track name and artist.
It would be nice to either preserve the cover’s original aspect ratio or to avoid filling the entire placeholder as it does today.
Just suggesting that the the ‘currently playing’ pane is not open when first opening Chromatix. If the pane could be opened and minimized by clicking on the album artwork of the currently playing song in the bottom left corner, that would allow for much more of the screen to be utilized for searching for music and make the UI feel less cluttered and “stuck”.
The app closes right after opening. No Error Message. Web App works fine. Not sure, where I can find logs, but could share if necessary. Trying on 0.7.1 What’s strange is that the release has 95 MB whereas 0.61 was >200 MB
It would be nice if there was an alphabet keyboard shortcut when in a main library list (Artist, Album, etc). For example, hitting ‘Q’ will quickly jump to the first ‘Q’ Artist. Either that or an actual visual alphabet to the side of the main library list. For extremely large libraries, getting around simply through scrolling is a tedious task. Something like the attached image - although hotkey alphabet support keeps the UI cleaner. No other notes though - loving the app!! I even programmed MBP touchpad gestures to make navigation quicker. 2 finger swipe left/right for moving forward and back. Two finger tap jumps to the main Artist page and three finger tap to Albums. :-) Having a blast!
Would add consistency to the application. Currently clicking the artist’s name takes you to the artist page, but clicking the track name doesn’t do anything.
Small thing, but I think it’d be cool. Currently clicking on the album cover does nothing.
Add the ability to search/filter within an album or playlist to find specific tracks
Add an option to display artist images as circles, to differentiate them in the same way as other established music apps often do.
The Subsonic API is one of the most widely adopted self-hosted music server protocols, supported by Navidrome, Airsonic, Funkwhale, and others. Adding support would significantly broaden Chromatix's reach beyond Plex and Jellyfin, ticking off compatibility with a large slice of the self-hosted music community in one go.
Add the ability to choose both a dark and a light theme, and automatically switch between them based on your OS system theme
macOS 26.5.1 Chromatix 0.6.0 (0.6.0) Plex Media Server A lot of my releases are gapless continuous DJ mixes, and it seems like Chromatix adds a few milliseconds of silence between each track when it plays the next, making it impossible to listen to them. The tracks are in FLAC 16-bit 44.1kHz format. I’ve tested the same tracks using the Plexamp MacOS app and can confirm the same tracks play gapless there.
Just felt like there should be an option to shuffle play all the albums/tracks that are under the genre/style/collection/mood groups
I'd love to have a little image for all the album and artist genres, moods and styles. Even if it was a little png file that was a different color for each mood/style/genre and just overlayed the first album cover in the mix. I feel like it would really add nice aesthetic to those pages that feel very empty right now.
Now that Linux app builds are working and available, it would be useful to make the app available on Linux package managers such as apt, pacman, dnf etc. As suggested here.
I would love a home screen where it gives you some quick options from your list of playlists, artist, recent uploads…etc. I think it would be nice as a landing page for opening the player. Thanks!
Any way to sort artists by the "Sort Artist" field rather than the default Artist field? I have Yankovic, Weird Al for "Weird Al" Yankovic and that's how I would like to see artists sorted. Taken from https://www.reddit.com/r/chromatix/comments/1sgq5gr/artist_sort_order/
I am not a developer, so I am unsure how possible this is….but provide the ability to use the service as a docker container on user’s servers.
I would love to have the option to right click the tracks for More info overview (Things like below, that Plex offers out of the box). Duration 7:17 Bitrate 320 kbps Container MP3 Duration 7:17 File 01 - Marabu - Summer of 42.mp3 Size 16.77 MB Container MP3 Has Thumbnail 1 Codec MP3 Channels 2 Bitrate 320 kbps Album Gain -1.58 Album Peak 0.716919 Album Range 11.957145 Audio Channel Layout stereo Gain -1.58 Loudness -18.64 Lra 20.43 Peak 0.636932 Sampling Rate 44100 Hz Display Title MP3 (Stereo) Extended Display Title MP3 (Stereo) Edit Metadata Edit album Covers / Artist covers when right clicking artists / albums Not sure if possible, but if connected locally (see other request) it would be great to have an “open folder” option Thinks like “Add to Playlist” when a track is selected. If it is welcome, I would like to try to add these things if this is something that @Alex is interested in
